GPS Device ID — Linking Vehicles

Auto-Matching

SVP automatically links GPS devices to fleet vehicles by VIN or vehicle name. If the match doesn't happen automatically, you can link manually using the GPS Device ID.

Finding Your Device ID by Provider

Each GPS provider uses a different device ID format. Find yours below:

• One-Step GPS — an alphanumeric string like 6fzIQCoUNiHcsk81f07-0V. Found in the One-Step dashboard under device settings.
• Samsara — a large number like 281474978671875. Found in Samsara Dashboard > Fleet > select the vehicle > Vehicle Details.
• Motive (KeepTruckin) — an integer like 126207. Found in Motive Dashboard > Vehicles > select the vehicle, then check the URL or vehicle details panel.
• Geotab — a short string like b1234. Found in MyGeotab > Vehicles > select the vehicle > Device tab.

Linking in SVP

1. Go to Fleet and click the vehicle
2. Click Edit
3. Paste the GPS Device ID into the GPS Device ID field
4. Click Save

The next GPS sync will link that device to this vehicle. Once linked, the vehicle detail page shows GPS: Connected with the last seen timestamp.
