What Are Service Intervals?
Service Intervals are automated reminders that track when each vehicle is due for service based on mileage (pulled from GPS) or elapsed time. Once configured, SVP continuously monitors each vehicle and alerts you when service is coming up or overdue β no manual tracking required.
Setting Up an Interval
- Go to Fleet and click the vehicle
- Open the Maintenance tab
- Scroll to the Service Intervals section and click Add Interval
- Choose the service type (Oil Change, Tire Rotation, Fuel Filter, New Tires, etc.)
- Enter an interval in miles (e.g., 5,000 for an oil change) and/or days (e.g., 180 for every 6 months)
- Click Save
SVP automatically finds the most recent completed maintenance record of that type and calculates when the next service is due.
GPS-Powered Odometer Tracking
With GPS connected, the vehicle's odometer updates automatically every 15 seconds. SVP continuously monitors how many miles remain until each interval is reached β no manual odometer entry needed.
Status Badges
- Green β OK, service not yet due
- Yellow β Due Soon (within 500 miles or 30 days)
- Red β Overdue
Editing an Interval
Click the pencil icon next to the interval to change the miles or days value, then click Save.
Deleting an Interval
Click the trash icon next to the interval and confirm deletion.
Automatic Recalculation After Service
When you log a new maintenance record of a matching type, the interval automatically recalculates the next due date and mileage based on the new service entry.
