Switching from Jobber to SVP

A complete guide to migrating your business from Jobber to Service Vault Pro.

Why Teams Switch from Jobber

Jobber is a solid general-purpose field service platform, but teams often switch to SVP for more industry-specific workflows (especially Christmas lights and seasonal services), simpler crew management, and more hands-on support. SVP is purpose-built for the industries it serves β€” which means less configuration and more out-of-the-box functionality.

Step 1: Export Your Data from Jobber

Start by getting your client list out of Jobber. Follow the Export Clients from Jobber guide to download your client CSV.

If you also want to bring over job history, export your jobs list using a similar process in Jobber's reporting section.

Step 2: Import into SVP

Upload your client CSV using SVP's import tool. See Importing Clients from a CSV for step-by-step instructions. Then import your jobs if applicable using Importing Jobs from a CSV.

Always import clients before jobs.

Step 3: Set Up Your Team

Add your employees to SVP and assign them appropriate roles (Admin, Manager, or Crew). See the Crew Portal Guide for how crew member accounts work. Managers can view and manage all jobs; crew members see only their assigned work.

Step 4: Connect via Zapier (Optional)

If you're running Jobber and SVP in parallel for a transition period, set up a Zapier integration to automatically sync new clients from Jobber into SVP as they're created. See Connect Jobber to SVP via Zapier.

Step 5: Explore Your Module

Depending on your industry, activate the right module in SVP:

  • Christmas lights: Enable the CL Season module for install/takedown tracking, client bins, and season dashboards.
  • Pressure washing: Enable the PW Dashboard module.
  • Lawn care: Enable the LC Dashboard module.

Modules are enabled in Settings β†’ Modules. Once enabled, they appear in your sidebar and dashboard.

Tips for a Smooth Transition

  • Run SVP and Jobber in parallel for 2–4 weeks during your first active season.
  • Train crew members on the SVP crew portal before fully cutting over.
  • Import historical jobs for at least the last 12 months so your client history is complete from day one.
