Switching from ServiceTitan to SVP

A complete guide to migrating your business from ServiceTitan to Service Vault Pro.

Why Teams Switch from ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan is a powerful platform built for large HVAC, plumbing, and electrical companies. Many smaller and mid-sized seasonal service businesses β€” especially Christmas lights installers β€” find it overpowered and overpriced for their needs. SVP is built specifically for the industries it serves, with a simpler setup, purpose-built seasonal workflows, and pricing that makes sense for businesses under $2M in revenue.

Step 1: Export Your Data from ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan's export options depend on your account tier. Follow the Export Clients from ServiceTitan guide. If your plan restricts data export, contact ServiceTitan support and request a full customer data export file β€” they're required by most data portability policies to provide this.

Step 2: Import into SVP

ServiceTitan exports can be wide (many columns). Use SVP's column mapper to select the fields you need and skip the rest. Follow Importing Clients from a CSV for the full process. Import clients first, then job history if needed via Importing Jobs from a CSV.

Step 3: Set Up Your Team

Add your employees to SVP with the appropriate roles. Unlike ServiceTitan's technician licensing model, SVP's crew portal access is included in your subscription without per-seat mobile fees. Add crew members and send their invites from Employees β†’ Add Employee. See the Crew Portal Guide for what they'll see.

Step 4: Connect via Zapier (Optional)

To sync new ServiceTitan customers into SVP during a transition period, set up a Zapier Zap. See Connect ServiceTitan to SVP via Zapier. Note that some ServiceTitan Zapier triggers require a paid Zapier plan.

Step 5: Explore Your Module

Enable the module that matches your primary service line:

  • Christmas lights: CL Season β€” install/takedown tracking, bin management, season dashboard
  • Pressure washing: PW Dashboard
  • Lawn care: LC Dashboard

Go to Settings β†’ Modules to enable. Your dashboard updates immediately.

Tips for a Smooth Transition

  • Give yourself at least 4 weeks before your busiest season starts to complete the migration and train your team.
  • ServiceTitan data exports can be complex β€” if you're not getting clean data from the export, reach out to SVP support. We can help you map and clean the file before importing.
  • Don't cancel ServiceTitan until you've confirmed all your historical job data and client records are safely in SVP.
  • Take screenshots or export PDFs of any ServiceTitan reports you reference frequently, as a reference while you get oriented in SVP's reporting.
